Interior Installation & Warehouse Department Supervisor

Summary

The Interior Install and Warehouse Supervisor is a hands-on supervisory role. It requires an enthusiastic, energetic, highly organized person, with excellent communication skills and great leadership qualities with the ability to mentor staff as needed balancing client expectations with business needs. Interior installation and Warehouse work is physical and requires one to be comfortable with operating machinery such as fork/scissor lifts and at times power tools. Flexibility is a must, thinking ahead with the agility and foresight to respond to changing weather that affects scheduling and other normal operations. The goal is to ensure that Plantasia Design’s standards for high-quality installed designs and customer service are being met or exceeded.

Procurement and Inventory

  • Create monthly flowering spreadsheet to manage flower order and delivery.
  • Create Purchase orders in QuickBooks – compile the monthly Florida plant order using Microsoft Excel.
  • Procure all products for the interior department; to include but limited to live interior plants, specialty flowering, faux plants and containers, materials, and related products.
  • Track, receive, process, quality-check and tag all new deliveries from Florida, Canada and other for interior plants live and faux, flowers, containers, mosses, living walls and other supplies according to company SOP, and request RMA’s / credits with vendors as needed.
  • Communicate changes in delivery time and availability of products to Sales, Design & Install Team
  • Manage supply inventories for the Interior Dept using Excel and other software, to include tools, supplies and materials needed for the job.
  • Manage product inventories for the Interior Dept, to include but not limited to live and faux plants, mosses, containers, specialty products and installation supplies.
  • Update catalogs and pricing and introduce new products to Sales and Design and any special pricing opportunities.

 Coordination, Oversight, Scheduling, Training

  • Coordinate with the sales/design teams to ensure that the overall vision is met.
  • Create efficient weekly installation/delivery schedules in coordination with Service supervisor.
  • Work closely with Interior Service team to identify interior project needs, create work orders, prioritize, and schedule projects for install team to execute.
  • Perform site visits to ensure quality control of all interior and specialty installations.
  • Review project specifications and delivery paperwork to understand the project requirements, as it relates to the sourcing, lead times and labor needs to deliver the finished product.
  • Prep and stage all interior, flowering and specialty installations.
  • Oversee the fabrication/assembly of the finished product assisting staff as needed.
  • Administer all department training to teams as needed.
  • Comply with safety and security access protocols as needed to access client sites.

 Warehouse, Greenhouse & Fleet Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all interior live goods and flowering plants are maintained, spaced and watered on schedule according to sound horticultural practices in the greenhouse and warehouse.
  • Maintain a safe and clean warehouse and interior work area (process trash, recycling, and returning product)
  • Ensure the safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals.
  • Ensure vehicles involved in the delivery of interior and flowering products have the proper supplies onboard and are clean of all debris, fueled up, and ready for the next day.
  • Manage a proactive maintenance schedule for all company vehicles.
  • Learn the proper operation and maintenance of the greenhouse.

 Customer Service and Teamwork

  • Perform / Lead installations in the field and site visits to ensure the quality of delivered product and that proper installation procedures are being followed.
  • Work with the installation team to promote teamwork and engage staff in company initiatives.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner.
  • Promote growth by identifying sales opportunities with existing and potential new clients.
  • Balance efficiencies with a great customer experience

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, evaluate and reward new and existing staff.
  • Proactively manage staffing levels, time tracking categories and submit payroll reports.
  • Implement operational policies and procedures.
  • Actively manage staff happiness, prepare and administer staff performance appraisals.
  • Develop and lead department team & training meetings.

 Skills and Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and some PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills – written and verbal.
  • Strong leadership skills and highly organized
  • Good natured, cool-headed and a team player
  • Adept in learning new technology platforms
  • Comfortable operating power tools
  • Ability to climb ladders up to 12’ and lift 60 pounds.
  • Operate scissor and forklifts.
  • Available to work extended hours as needed.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience required.
  • Live Plant Knowledge Is a plus!

 

Exterior & Holiday Department Supervisor

Summary

The Exterior and Holiday Supervisor is a hands-on supervisory role.   • Coordinate with the sales/design teams to ensure that the overall vision is met.
  • Create efficient weekly installation/delivery schedules in coordination with interior dept supervisor.
  • Create efficient exterior maintenance routing ensuring it’s updated, and accurate as new clients are onboarded.
  • Ensure quality control of all holiday and exterior installations and exterior maintenance accounts.
  • Review project specifications and delivery paperwork to understand the project requirements, as it relates to the sourcing, lead times and labor needs to deliver the finished product.
  • Prep and stage all exterior & holiday installations.
  • Oversee the fabrication/assembly of the finished plant and holiday product assisting staff as needed.
